Power of Narrative 2025

Julia Barton is a story editor for narrative audio. She's one of the founders of Pushkin Industries, an audio production house based in New York. Editing credits at Pushkin include Malcolm Gladwell's "Revisionist History" podcast and audiobook "The Bomber Mafia," Michael Lewis's podcast "Against the Rules," Jill Lepore's "The Last Archive," and Tim Harford's "Cautionary Tales," among other projects. Barton also curated "The Best Audio Storytelling: 2022," an audiobook survey of outstanding work. She was a 2023-24 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, where she researched the hidden history of radio's first century, and radio's influence on storytelling assumptions and the modern media landscape.
