About me
Ashanti Blaize-Hopkins is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has worked as a television news anchor, reporter, and producer in markets across the country. Currently, she’s the interim associate dean at Santa Monica College's Center for Media & Design campus, where she oversees 20-plus career education programs and the institution's bachelor's degree in Interaction Design. She's also a tenured journalism professor at SMC and the president emeritus of the national Society of Professional Journalists.
