About me
Dionicia Valencia Roberson, who also goes by Dio, grew up transient and chronically unsheltered across many cities, including Boston. As such, Dio learned firsthand the ways in which stories about people - whether true, kind, or neither - can impact them in real time, for better or worse. This knowledge fueled Dio's passion to uplift the concept of narrative power - i.e sovereign ownership of the story of one's life, history, and circumstances - and dedicate her life to helping to create platforms for others to declare themselves and to amplify the voices of those traditionally excluded from the public discourse through her work in Community Narratives.
